US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

So chuffed! I was contacted last week by American based wedding blog Bridestea (which specialises in multicultural weddings), requesting to use some images from nicola and George’s recent wedding at Hatfield House. I was delighted to send them a selection - ALL of which they used (some by my assistant for the day Annamarie Stepney). I think the images look fantastic - head over there and have a look for yourself - click here http://bridestea.com/?p=4526#more-4526

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

Starting today, I am a proud sponsor on the fantastic UK-based wedding blog, Love my Dress written and run by the very lovely Annabel.

LMD takes a step away from the usual ‘wedding blog’ because their content is a hybrid of information spanning weddings and fashion - it appeals to the modern bride arranging unique and individual weddings.

Annabel has featured loads of my images in her welcome post to me and alongside my sponsorship, I will be running a special offer on Love my Dress later in May for couples getting married in 2010 or 2011.

I am very proud to be a sponsor and look forward to a long relationship with Love my Dress!

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

I have the honour of having one of my weddings from last year featured on the fantastic wedding blog, Love my Dress, run by the wonderful Annabel. LMD takes a step away from the usual ‘wedding blog’ - their content is a hybrid of information spanning weddings and fashion. It’s always great for me to see my images either in magazines or featured on blogs, and it’s blogs which are becoming more and more popular for brides looking for inspiration and ideas away from the more traditional ideas of what a wedding should be.  I cordially invite you to take a look at the full article in all its glory at: http://www.lovemydress.net/blog/2010/04/a-marriage-full-of-military-style.html

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

Happy New Year to all of you reading this blog - past and future brides and newly-engaged couples looking for a friendly wedding photographer! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

Whew! 2009 was an extrememly busy year for me I’m pleased to say, as I like nothing more than capturing stunning images of stunning couples on their big day and delivering memories that will stay with them, forever. All in all, I shot over 30 weddings last year and 2010 looks to be just as frenetic, with weddings already booked for places far and wide including Aberdeen and Suffolk to name just two. I’m looking forward to getting all the pre-wedding shoots arranged for this year and meeting up with my couples again.

There are also exciting things afoot from my point of view - my brand new website will be launching in February and along with it, a fresh new look to this blog which will make everything come together nicely. Weddings I shot last year are soon to be featured in both regional and national wedding magazines (more info nearer the time) and I have a couple of personal New Year resolutions I have to try and stick to!

All in all, a very exciting year and many fantastic weddings to shoot - what wedding photographer could ask for more?

Kim

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

This week I have taken delivery of a brand new funky wedding sample album that I’ll be offering couples for 2010 and beyond. I am delighted to have found these albums, straight from Michigan, USA. The company is called Finao and they produce each album to order - no mass production techniques, just a unique made-to-measure wedding album every time. I also have two tins of swatches which detail a mind-boggling choice of cover options including brocades, leathers and silks to mention but a few - altogether there are over 30 different covers to choose from! There are VERY FEW photographers in the UK who have these albums (in fact I know of only one other) - they are quite a rare find.

Inside the album are hard pages with mounted 12×12 photographic prints. Each page can be one single image or a composite of two or three.  I design every album to ensure your images sit well together whilst also telling the story of your day exactly in the order it happened. Any couples who contact me from this week onwards will see this beautiful album, which for my sample has a brocade cover in ‘Nehru’. Here are some images I took of it when it arrived yesterday, along with just a few of the swatches, but to get the full beauty of it, you really need to see it in the flesh!

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

Well, just after being featured on the ‘Rock my Wedding’ blog having just booked the wedding of one of its contributors, Jenny, I’m extremely pleased to mention the fact to all you lovely brides-2-be and post-brides (for I know many of you still come back to read this blog) that Skye and Liam’s Halloween-themed wedding is this week featured on another funky blog called Rock ‘n Roll Bride. The wedding itself from my point of view was perfect - after a wet start the weather gave a soft milky autumnal sunlight all afternoon (lovely for photographs),  a very good looking bride and groom, fantastic details to photograph and a great venue with wonderful backdrops/locations. No wonder then that the images are going down so well.

Kat, who runs and writes the blog has presented to me her ‘Approved Rockstar Vendor’ badge which will take its place at the top of my printed literature from now on. I’m so pleased to be featuring on so many mediums at the moment and it’s also having its effect in terms of brides-to-be contacting me wanting to know my availability for 2009 and beyond, so if you’re one of those just coming across my work, get in touch but be quick!

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

I met Jen and Matt recently who described to me their wedding next year and more specifically the wedding car they have booked - a vintage split-screen VW camper van (a bit like The Dream Machine from Scooby Doo) called Brian. Jen is a singer in a Ska band and she calls Matt ‘Duncan from Blue’ and not being a massive fan of Blue (who?) I have to take her word to the supposed similarities in their features. Anyway, Jen and Matt have booked me for their wedding next year which pleases me no end, as I think it will be a really funky little affair! Already we’re plotting the locations of their pre-wedding shoot in and around the groovier parts of London.

The other thing is, Jen writes a weekly column for a blog called Rock my Wedding, which aims to reach out to brides-to-be who want their weddings to be just that little bit different to the stated ‘norm’. Jen has today written a great piece (well, I would say that, wouldn’t I?) all about how they found me and why they booked me and I LOVE it!

Here’s a quick screenshot, but head over there to have a read about why Jen wants to be a rockstar….

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

I do love a chance to blow my own trumpet and I am very pleased to tell you that one of my weddings from 2009 is being featured in the latest issue of the magazine, which is on sale now and for the next two months.

Editor Lisa told me she thought Rob and Laura were a ’stunning couple’ and obviously I agree and think they look fantastic across the pages. But that’s not all - the cover image of this issue is also one of my brides - Becki, who married Matt last month and whose image was chosen specifically for the cover by Lisa.

The magazine, as well as being on sale in shops, now goes to all the wedding fairs in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and will also be on sale at the National Wedding Show at Earls Court in October, so my name and images will be seen far and wide - I am just so chuffed!

US Wedding Blog features Nicola and George’s wedding

…is happening to Kim Hawkins Wedding Photography - I am very pleased to say that one of my weddings from June (Laura and Rob) will be the featured wedding in the new issue of Your Herts and Beds Wedding magazine,  the sole aim of which is to provide brides & grooms with regional information, inspiration, and advice relevant to their own wedding.

The October/November issue (in which the wedding will feature across four pages) will be on sale in all newsagents and supermarkets in the whole of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire in mid-September and will also be distributed at the National Wedding Shows both at the Birmingham NEC and London Olympia in the Autumn.

I will show pictures of the feature here when I get my copy!
