First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

This wedding was a corker!

Last Friday (after a week of rotten, windy and damp weather) was a beautiful autumnal day - perfect for the stylish wedding of Steph and Paul at the stunning venue of the Comper Chapel within the All Saints Pastoral Centre in Hertfordshire.

More to come, folks but for now, here’s a sneaky peek of the gorgeousness…

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

Whew! This is the first blog piece I’ve had time to add in the past week or so! Although my wedding season is beginning to wind down a bit, my time is spent this time of year catching up with happy couples after their honeymoons, helping them to choose their images and then designing those images into albums for them. I also have been busy getting my new studio ready to open - more on that in a couple of weeks but suffice to say, I’m really excited about it!

Anyway, onto a great wedding…the pre-wedding shoot I did with Helen and James took place in Bristol a few weeks back and it was obvious how much in love they are - they were also very natural and relaxed in front of my camera, which allowed me to feel confident on the day of their gorgeous wedding that we would capture some stunning images of the two of them. The prep, wedding and reception all took place at a fantastic country house hotel near Hitchin in Hertfordshire called Offley Place (the food’s great too)! The venue is stunning and has loads of little nooks and crannies that I love so much - it allows me to use places that other photographers may not find or decide to use - but they do allow some fantastic images to be created. Have a look and see for yourselves….

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

Last weekend I had the honour of shooting the wedding of Petra and Ian in the wonderful surroundings of Parklands, Quendon Hall near Sawbridgeworth. The unique thing about this venue is apparent in the big group shot here - yes, that’s deer roaming freely in the background - fantastic!

This wedding also features my choice of bouquet of the year - and the lady who created every one of the flower arrangements you see here is not even in business but simply makes them for friends and family!

I had a really good blast with them on the day and look forward to helping them choose the images for their funky Elements album when they return from honeymoon. Enjoy this selection of Petra and Ian’s images…

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

Last weekend was a stonker with two weddings - both of which were fabulous in their very unique ways. Jenny and Matt wed on Saturday in Hertfordshire and I have to hold off the blogging because Jen writes for top wedding blog Rock My Wedding and they will be exclusively the wedding images later this month.

In the meantime, here are the shots from Sunday’s wedding between Christine and Tom at Botleys Mansion (a beautiful venue) in Chertsey, Surrey. They are a fun couple who were very relaxed about their photographs and left me with full creative control about where to take them and what to take - thanks, guys! They also booked the photobooth, which proved hugely popular, as it always does - if you want some really good fun images of you and your guests once the party has begun, this is definately for you.

Enjoy!

To start with, Christine didn’t have a traditional bouquet of flowers, preferring instead to have a corsage of orchids - her bridesmaids had the same in blue

Christine had a pair of ‘Weddingtons’ for herself and the bridesmaids…

The next three images were taken by Annamarie - my assistant for the day

Look at that expression - priceless!

And so to the beautiful new conservatory where the wedding breakfast took place…

Christine’s Mum Jackie created all the flower arrangements and centre peices on the tables with hat boxes - brilliant!

While the wedding breakfast was going on, each table was given a sheet of questions about song lyrics which Christine and Tom had set. Being a big music buff, I loved trying to get the answers right before the answers were read out after the meal…I got MOST of them right!

Time for a couple more portrait shots before the party…what a fab chair

Finally, the photobooth and time for everyone to really let their hair down and have a good laugh dressing up and generally being a bit daft!

And the Bride and Groom?

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

Although Shelley and Kevin live very close to me in Hertfordshire, they spent a weekend at Tuddenham Mill last year where Kevin proposed and they both decided it was also the perfect location to have their wedding.

The weather on the day was forecast to be showers but luckily we only had one so it didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits - it also meant we could walk the beautiful grounds around the Mill after the ceremony for some stunning portrait images. Kevin’s sister sang for the couple at their evening reception, which left everyone in the room with a lump in their throat and a glisten in their eye - it was so emotional!

Please enjoy these images from their wonderful day….

Meanwhile, the guys were arriving - this is one of Kevin’s ushers parking Kevin’s pride and joy - a Porsche Boxter - also the name of the couple’s top table for the wedding breakfast!

Shelley’s little nephew - what a cutie! He’s going to be very popular with the ladies when he’s a bit older….

I was taking Shelley’s portrait when her father made his presence known (by saying, “Anybody changing their name today?)” as he came up the steps outside the loft room - I love the expression on Shelley’s face - it says everything!

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

Kirsty and Ben chose to get married at the very beautiful Grim’s Dyke Hotel in Harrow, NW London. Fewer words this time - just images doing the talking….

First look - Stephanie and Paul’s autumn wedding at the Comper Chapel

I met up with Tanya and James a few weeks ago to do a pre-wedding shoot with them and they chose Teddington Lock, which is near to the venue they were going to be married in - The Landmark Arts Centre. For the wedding day itself, they wanted to do the portrait shots before the ceremony (something which is a great idea - it gives us much more time to capture some beautiful images and there are fewer pressures on the bride and groom). They left me to choose where to do them as they didn’t really want to visit the same location again. So on the day, we found ourselves whisked off to a part of Richmond Park which I had scouted out a few weeks beforehand. Tanya had two dresses - one for the shoot and the reception and a traditionally red-coloured one for the ceremony - both of which were stunning and very heavy!

After the shoot, the Hindu wedding ceremony itself took place inside the Landmark - a former church - beautiful colours, customs and traditions intermingled with fantastic food and dancing made for a spectacular day. Here are some of their images and many thanks to my assistant for the day, Jon Mold.

And James getting ready, shot my my assistant for the day, Jon

And so off to Richmond Park….

One of Jon’s…

After a few formals, time for a couple more portrait shots in the grounds

And then some dancing…

Some music…

And the food!
