Victoria and Freddie
This was a more unusual wedding, in that it was very much ‘homemade’. Victoria got ready at her parent’s house, with her sisters, brother and wider family around her to help. Freddie was with his guys at their own house elsewhere in Hertfordshire. After some family photographs at the house, Victoria and her Dad walked the half-mile from the house to the beautiful church at Great Hormead for the wedding. After an emotional service, she and Freddie then made their way back to the family house for a blessing in the chapel next door by special arrangement with the local Vicar. The plan then was to partay all afternoon and evening with friends and families within a giant marquee in the grounds of the house! Not to mention a request for the photographer (me) to clamber onto the roof of the extension to capture a photo of all the guests! (Did I mention that I’m insured..?)
Onto the wedding breakfast and speeches: during his, the Best Man revealed that he was still sporting a very sexy security tag on his waistcoat, which John Lewis had failed to remove on purchase! There were two wedding cakes, which had to be kept cool until the last minute as it was such a warm day but they were pretty breathtaking once unveiled! Victoria and Freddie cut the largest one and then the evening swung into life with everybody cramming onto the dance floor to dance the night away!
With the hog roast to come, I slipped away into the country night, leaving a rocking party to continue long into the night.
