Jo & Mark’s
London engagement shoot

I met up with Jo and Mark on a beautiful summer’s afternoon in Battersea Park in London for their engagement shoot. Prior to meeting up with them, I stopped into Peter Jones in Sloane Square and had a cup of coffee and a cupcake (for energy, you understand. After meeting at the park, we took a slow meander around it, stopping here and there at places that caught my eye – especially the very beautiful and impressive Peace Pagoda, seen here. Whilst walking and shooting, we were chatting and getting to know each other – this helps on the day of the wedding to relax couples, especially if they’re a bit nervous in front of the camera anyway.

These are the resulting images – colourful, relaxed and fun, which is what I strive for in all my shoots. Just out of interest, instead of my usual Canon camera, I decided to go lightweight and shoot the couple with my full-frame Sony A7 MKII, along with my 35mm, 55mm and 70-200mm lenses. I was curious to see how well the Sony would cope in a real world shoot situation and I was really impressed – the images certainly have a ‘look’ that’s slightly different to my usual cameras and very unique to Sony.

You can see some images from Jo and Mark’s wedding later the same year at South Farm inside my Weddings gallery.
